Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Planstalk (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Planstalk mobile app and website. Planstalk is a social planning app that lets you discover, create, and join local events and plans, message other members, and book tickets to events.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Phone number (used to create and sign in to your account via a one-time SMS code).
  • Profile details such as your name, username, bio, interests, city, and a profile photo, if you choose to add them.
  • Email address, if you provide one.
  • Content you create: plans and events you post, cover images, messages you send in chats, and comments or reports you submit.
  • Payment information when you book a paid event. Payments are processed by our payment gateway partner (Cashfree). We do not receive or store your full card details.

Information collected with your permission:

  • Location: With your permission, we use your device location to show plans and events happening near you and to help set the location of plans you create. You can decline or revoke this permission in your device settings; the app remains usable without it.
  • Photos and camera: With your permission, we access your photo library and camera so you can set a profile picture, add a cover image to a plan, and so hosts can scan guests’ entry tickets. We only access the specific images you choose.
  • Notifications: If you enable notifications, we store a push notification token for your device so we can send you alerts about your plans, join requests, and messages.

Information collected automatically:

  • Basic device and app information (such as device type, operating system, and app version) used to operate the service, keep it secure, and diagnose problems.

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To create and secure your account and sign you in.
  • To show you relevant plans and events, including those near your location.
  • To let you create plans, join events, and message other members.
  • To process bookings, issue entry tickets, and send confirmations.
  • To send you notifications you have opted into about your plans, requests, and messages.
  • To keep the community safe, including reviewing reports and enforcing our Terms.

3. How We Share Your Data

  • With event hosts: When you book or join an event, the host receives the information needed to admit you, such as your name and ticket, so they can check you in.
  • With other members: Your profile details, the plans you post, and the messages you send in a conversation are visible to the members you share them with. Public profile information may be visible to other users of the app.
  • With service providers: We use trusted providers to run the service, including Supabase (database, authentication, and storage), Cashfree (payments), Google (maps and place search), and Expo/Google/Apple (push notification delivery). They process data only to provide these services to us.
  • For legal reasons: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
  • We do not sell your personal data to third-party advertisers.

4. Messages

Messages you send in Planstalk are encrypted in transit and are only shown to the members of that conversation within the app. We do not use your messages for advertising.

5. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal or accounting obligations.

6. Your Rights and Account Deletion

You can edit your profile at any time and control location, photo, and notification permissions from your device settings. You can delete your account directly in the app from Settings → Privacy & Security → Delete Account, which removes your profile and associated personal data. You may also email us to request access to or deletion of your data.

7. Children’s Privacy

Planstalk is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, including encryption of data in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last Updated” date above when we do.
